Kennewick Man
The name for the skeletal remains of a prehistoric man found in 1996 at the Columbia River in Kennewick, Washington, USA. Dating was based on the stone spear tip embedded in the pelvis. Radiocarbon dating confirmed the age to be 8,400 years.
Kota Tampan culture
Palaeolithic culture in Perak on the Malay Peninsula, identified by large pebble tools fashioned on one side only. This pebble-tool culture is associated with the great Toba volcanic eruption of 74,000 years ago.
