Rock Art of the Cosos film screening - Dr. Alan Garfinkel, UltraSystems Environmental Inc. and San Diego Rock Art Association invites you to a Film Screening and Presentation of 'Talking Stone: Rock Art of the Cosos'.
Hidden away in the canyons of a top-secret military base on the edge of the Mojave Desert is the largest concentration of rock art in North America. Created over thousands of years by a now-vanished culture, it represents the oldest art in California. 'Talking Stone' explores the remote canyons and mysteries surrounding these amazing images.
Executive Producer Dr. Alan Garfinkel, Principal Archaeologist of UltraSystems Environmental, will screen this 55-minute documentary film that has been shown on PBS and is now being distributed worldwide by the Bradshaw Foundation.
Working with Garfinkel, Emmy- and Oscar-award-winning cinematographer Paul Goldsmith, ASC, with unparalleled access to the remarkable China Lake Navy Base resources and a host of contributors, spent four years to create an engaging and informative film.
Garfinkel will introduce the film and host an informal Q and A for all viewers to share their questions and reflections.
