Rock Art Australia hosted a recent webinar entitled Insights from the Dating Team: coming to grips with the rock art and landscape evolution based on the research of the Rock Art Dating Project in the Kimberley of north western Australia.
This has now been released on the Rock Art Australia website.
The webinar featured T.O. Ian Waina, Prof. Andy Gleadow, Prof. Bruno David and Dr Damien Finch.
The panelists discuss the importance of working with the Traditional Owners, the advances in dating made in recent years and the importance of understanding the geomorphology of the rock art sites in the Kimberley. Despite the restrictions on field work imposed by the covid pandemic, they also share their thoughts on the unlikely benefit in terms of laboratory work in order to establish robust scientific data concerning the rock art as well as on the future research.
