The California Rock Art Foundation is pleased to announce limited openings on two trips scheduled for March 2022 in Baja California Sur, Mexico. In collaboration with our partners at Saddling South, we have organized an extraordinary trip into the Sierra de San Francisco in the heart of the Great Mural Rock Painting Tradition. The venture into Santa Teresa offers amazing anthropological rancho experiences and visits to some of the best Great Murals sits including la Cueva Pintada, las Flechas, Santa Teresa I/II, Soledad, Musicos, Boca de San Julio, Piedra de Cuey, among others. The trip into San Gregorio Canyon takes visitors to San Gregorio I & 2, La Palma, El Borrego, and Boca de San Casimiro, among others.
This adventure departs from Loreto, a coastal town located on the Sea of Cortez. The journey will take our guests into Santa Teresa Canyon within the Sierra de San Francisco, and will offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The trip involves visits to the nearby ranchos and visits to some of the most spectacular rock art in the world - incredible painted rock shelters in the rugged mountain wilderness – known to some as the Grand Canyon of Baja, Mexico.
