The Upper Brandberg (see description of the June 2012 trip) contains one of the finest and best preserved ensemble of prehistoric rock art on the African continent. Very few people have had the opportunity to see them, on account of the extremely challenging terrain and the very demanding climb and treks required to reach the sites.
This expedition will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the most important sites of the Upper Brandberg for those who do not possess the physical fitness required to reach the sites on foot. The trip will be fully helicopter supported, taking flights to ascend and descend the mountain, as well as to move between the various campsites and locations. From our landing places, all sites will be reachable with a walk of no more than a couple of hundred metres on generally flat terrain, making the trip suitable for anyone.
Visit Upper Brandberg, Namibia
We will spend seven days on the top of the mountain, but will also have the opportunity to visit the famous 'White Lady' and other sites at or around the base of the mountain, which are more firmly on the regular tourist trail.
The expedition will start and return to Windhoek. Participants will be expected to make their own flight arrangements. Exact dates will be finalised approximately six months prior to departure.
